Life360 is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II for the Revenue Experimentation team, which owns the design, shipping, and analysis of high-velocity growth and monetization experiments across the Life360 mobile app (102.4M monthly active users). This role is Android-first but welcomes engineers who work fluidly across iOS, web, and backend as experiments demand.
You will take hypotheses—from fully-specced briefs to rough Slack ideas—and ship them as running, instrumented experiments. You'll design and build subscription paywalls, pricing tests, ad placement experiments, IAP flows, and upsell surfaces. You'll partner with product, design, data science, and analytics to translate ideas into shippable features, push back when plans don't hold up, and own staged rollouts end-to-end: ramping exposure, monitoring guardrails, and making hold/rollback/scale decisions.
The team is AI-Native: AI is a first-class collaborator at every stage (ideation, coding, testing, review, iteration). You'll orchestrate AI agents (Claude Code or equivalent) to create specs, generate code and tests, verify results, and perform reviews. You'll help define and codify AI-native Android engineering practices for the broader mobile org.
You'll also instrument experiments accurately for trustworthy downstream analytics, ship polished, performant Android experiences to tens of millions of users (with attention to startup time, memory, battery, ANR, crash-free rates), participate in on-call rotation and incident response, mentor other engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews.
Life360 is a remote-first company with 500+ employees. The team values agency (making calls when closest to the problem), ownership mentality (owning work from design through production), taste and craft (having opinions about good experiments and UX), growth mindset, AI-native working style, and collaborative communication.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of Android software engineering experience shipping production apps at consumer scale
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs
- Strong proficiency with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (and Android View system); deep familiarity with modern Android toolchain (Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow)
- Experience with Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack/ViewModel/Navigation, Hilt or Dagger) in large, multi-team codebases
- Comfort with mobile experimentation concepts: feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdouts, guardrail metrics
- Solid grounding in mobile performance, memory, battery, ANR, crash diagnostics (Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto/Systrace, Macrobenchmark, Crashlytics or equivalent)
- Experience with CI/CD for Android (Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar) and modular build systems
- Expertise with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context-window management, MCP/function calling—understanding research-plan-implement cycle without outsourcing thinking to agents
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, GrowthBook, or similar)
- Background in mobile analytics pipelines (Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake/Databricks downstream)
- Familiarity with Bayesian or sequential testing methods and client-side implementation
- Previous work on subscription, paywall, pricing, or onboarding surfaces at consumer scale
- Deep expertise in Kotlin/Android, Swift, or React, with comfort shipping in another platform
- Contributions to mobile open source or internal developer tooling
