The ID Verification Team is responsible for a vital and growing product within SEON's fraud prevention suite. The team owns development of ID verification services spanning multiple backend components, SDKs, and customer-facing platforms. As the currently beta product evolves into a core part of SEON's fraud analysis offering, the focus is on continuous feature delivery and innovative improvements to enhance fraud prevention workflows.
In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will contribute to a growing team with strong mentoring responsibilities alongside individual technical contributions. You'll deliver high-quality code across the full stack—Node.js, TypeScript, and React—with emphasis on simplicity, performance, and scalability. Responsibilities include designing and implementing cutting-edge client and database features, maintaining and developing the application codebase, reviewing pull requests and suggesting improvements, and supporting the entire software development lifecycle from design through rollout. You'll bring an engineering mindset focused on how systems work, scale, and improve over time, and you'll mentor senior and mid-level colleagues.
The tech stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, React, NestJS, REST APIs, PostgreSQL with pgvector, and Lambda functions. The role is based in the Budapest office with a hybrid work schedule.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5+ years of fullstack software engineering experience (Node.js, TypeScript, React, REST, RDBMS, NoSQL)
- Agile and iterative mindset with end-to-end responsibility
- Strong experience in automated testing and performance optimization
- Knowledge and understanding of IT security
- Experience designing modular systems, refactoring and decoupling monoliths, and working with microservices
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes
- Experience in continuous integration and delivery
- Experience working in self-organizing cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience mentoring senior and mid-level colleagues
- English language proficiency
- Pair programming, TDD, and Trunk Based Development experience (pro)
- AWS experience (pro)
