Salary: CAD 153,815 - 277,431 / annual
Braze is a leading customer engagement platform that helps brands deliver personalized experiences at scale. The Core Objects team owns the foundational data structures that power Braze's product offering and enable customers to implement their most innovative engagement strategies.
In this role, you will work on a team that extensively integrates AI into its daily workflow, using agentic tools to navigate a large Ruby monolith, create proof of concepts, and rapidly transition from requirements to production solutions. AI is leveraged across all stages of product delivery to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
You will tackle significant engineering challenges including: extending the high-scale ingestion pipeline to handle new and advanced data objects, optimizing performance and cost across core systems, and owning complex backend infrastructure that enables the entire product offering. You'll work on a variety of projects building and extending Core Objects systems and features, taking ownership of technical decisions and contributing to the team's technical direction.
The role is full-stack, requiring both backend and frontend capabilities. You will work in a hybrid environment in Toronto with a team that values autonomy, accountability, and diverse perspectives. The team operates with high standards and emphasizes teamwork and work-life harmony.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experienced technical leader
- Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in team environments
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience building software at scale
- Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Go, SQL, NoSQL databases, distributed systems, or API design/monitoring/best practices
- Experience with agile processes
