Salary: USD 128,842 - 232,200 / annual
Braze is a leading customer engagement platform that empowers brands to deliver personalized, AI-driven customer experiences at scale. The Core Objects team owns the foundational data structures that power Braze's product offering and enable customers to implement their most innovative engagement strategies.
In this role, you will work on critical backend systems that serve as the foundation for Braze's entire product offering. The team extensively integrates AI into its daily workflow, using agentic tools to navigate a large Ruby monolith, create proof of concepts, and transition quickly and safely from requirements to production solutions. AI is leveraged across all stages of product delivery to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-quality results more efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tackling significant engineering challenges such as extending Braze's high-scale ingestion pipeline to ingest new and advanced data objects
- Optimizing performance and cost across complex backend systems
- Owning and evolving a complex backend system that enables the entire product offering
- Taking on a variety of technical challenges as the Core Objects systems and features are extended and built
- Contributing as an experienced technical leader who can guide and mentor team members

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Experienced technical leader with strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter who thrives in team environments
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience building software at scale
- Experience with one or more of: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Go, SQL, NoSQL databases, distributed systems, API design/monitoring/best practices
- Experience with agile processes
- Passion for customer experience
