Salary: USD 128,842 - 232,200 / annual
Braze is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Objects team, which owns the foundational data structures powering Braze's customer engagement platform. This team is responsible for the high-scale ingestion pipeline and complex backend systems that enable customers to implement their most innovative engagement strategies.
In this role, you will tackle significant engineering challenges including extending the high-scale ingestion pipeline to support new and advanced data objects, optimizing performance and cost, and maintaining the complex backend systems that underpin the entire product offering. The team extensively integrates AI into its workflow, leveraging agentic tools to navigate the large Ruby monolith, create proof of concepts, and transition quickly and safely from requirements to production solutions. AI is used across all stages of product delivery to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-quality results more efficiently.
You will work on a variety of projects to build and extend Core Objects systems and features, taking ownership of complex technical challenges in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. This is a full-stack role where you'll contribute across the entire technology stack.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Demonstrated experience as a technical leader
- Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in team environments
Bonus qualifications:
- Professional experience building software at scale
- Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Go, SQL, NoSQL databases, distributed systems, or API design/monitoring/best practices
- Experience with agile processes
