Salary: USD 128,842 - 232,200 / annual
Braze is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Objects team, which owns the foundational data structures powering Braze's customer engagement platform. This team is responsible for the core systems that enable customers to implement their most innovative engagement strategies.
The Core Objects team extensively integrates AI into its workflow, using agentic tools to navigate the large Ruby monolith, create proof of concepts, and rapidly transition from requirements to production solutions. AI is leveraged across all stages of product delivery to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
In this role, you will tackle significant engineering challenges including:
- Extending the high-scale ingestion pipeline to support new and advanced data objects
- Optimizing performance and cost across core systems
- Owning complex backend systems that enable the entire product offering
- Building new features and projects within the Core Objects ecosystem
You will work as a fullstack engineer on a team that values autonomy, accountability, and diverse perspectives. The role offers the opportunity to make real impact on a product used by major brands globally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Demonstrated technical leadership
- Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in team environments

- Professional experience building software at scale
- Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Go, SQL, NoSQL databases, distributed systems, or API design/monitoring
