The Senior Software Engineer I role is part of the Platform Core Team based in Pune and focuses on developing high-quality, innovative software in compliance with coding standards. You will work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure software deliverables—including designs, code, and tests—are completed on time while maintaining alignment with industry and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale production services, web applications, data pipelines, and streaming systems
- Work on systems critical to the company's current and future operations
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
- Provide support to engineering teams with high attention to detail
- Research, analyze, and document technical findings
- Influence others within the software engineering team through clear explanation of facts, policies, and practices
- Assist with improvement of organizational engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Participate in testing processes through test review, analysis, witnessing, and software certification
- Evaluate code to ensure validity, proper structure, alignment with industry standards, and operating system compatibility
- Maintain current knowledge of technologies and programming practices through continuing education and professional engagement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently on projects with general supervision
- Practical knowledge of applicable work areas
- Ability to adapt situationally and learn new technologies/processes as needed
- Knowledge of programming concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ability to work constructively and independently under stress in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; positive interaction with colleagues and external contacts
- Knowledge of programming languages and software fundamentals
- Familiarity with software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent business experience
- 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Strong Golang experience (primary requirement)
- Exposure to PostgreSQL and Kafka (preferred)
- Onsite/Hybrid work arrangement depending on location
