Hinge Health is building a new Gastrointestinal (GI) product line from scratch to serve 60M+ Americans with GI conditions. The GI market represents a $135B opportunity in the US alone, and following the acquisition of Cylinder Health, Hinge Health is positioned to rapidly expand into this space.
As a Senior Software Engineer for GI, you will be a core member of a new product team, building an end-to-end digital care experience. You'll work hands-on across the full tech stack—React Native, TypeScript/Node.js, Go backends, GraphQL, AWS services, and AI agents—while partnering closely with staff engineers, product, design, and marketing teams across San Francisco, Montreal, and Bangalore.
In your first 3 months, you'll contribute to defining the GI product from scratch, deliver at least one large project introducing new capabilities, break down complex problems into manageable tasks, and communicate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical partners.
By 6 months, you'll have implemented key GI product functionalities, independently driven 3+ high-complexity projects, implemented engineering best practices (CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, performance optimization), improved maintainability and architecture, integrated AI technologies to enhance features, and mentored junior engineers.
Within your first year, you'll have launched the new product, iterated based on member feedback, driven cross-team initiatives for end-to-end user journeys, and continuously raised engineering standards across testing, observability, reliability, accessibility, and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 3+ years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience
- 4+ years of experience with at least one software programming language
- 4+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Experience delivering large software projects or features in production environments
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
Preferred:
- Experience building in large React Native codebases, TypeScript/Node.js & Go backends, GraphQL, AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, SageMaker)
- Product integration mindset with history operating product surfaces across multiple platforms
- Track record running A/B tests or multivariate tests on core product surfaces
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript, React Native, and modern mobile development tooling
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow other engineers
- Experience collaborating with product, design, and data/analytics partners
- Experience developing consumer-facing apps used by millions/billions of users
- Experience in regulated environments (healthcare/HIPAA or other highly regulated domains with sensitive data)
- Track record as a 0→1 builder with experience building brand new products from scratch
- Familiarity with AI software development techniques (AI agents, etc.)
