In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Hoxhunt's gamified phishing platform—the company's flagship product used by 5+ million people daily to build safer online behavior. You'll join the attack capabilities product team at a pivotal growth stage where scalability, product quality, and execution speed are critical.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and deliver scalable, highly reliable full-stack features for the gamification platform
- Develop innovative training approaches against evolving cybersecurity threats (e.g., deepfake simulations, AI-powered agent calls)
- Extend the simulation engine to recreate modern multi-channel attacks across email, chat, and phone
- Design and ship gamification features (leaderboards, achievements, learning paths) that drive user engagement
- Contribute to long-term architectural evolution as systems scale beyond original design capacity
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and engineering peers on planning, scoping, and execution
- Drive significant end-to-end projects and contribute to architectural decisions
Success metrics: In 90 days, you'll be productive in the tech stack and shipping features. By month six, you'll confidently drive major projects and operate as a trusted technical owner.

Requirements:
- At least 5 years of industry experience (though impact and ownership valued over tenure)
- Hands-on expertise with TypeScript and React
- Experience building backend services and APIs (Node.js and MongoDB preferred)
- Proven track record building and maintaining large-scale systems for real end-users
- Consistent delivery of results with a strong builder mindset
- Strong product mindset balancing technical quality with user value and business impact
- AI-native mindset with curiosity about AI-assisted workflows and agent-based systems
- Bonus: Deep focus on system logic and architecture (deep UX expertise not required)
Work arrangement: Hybrid with minimum 1-2 days per week in Helsinki office.
