Heidi Health is building an AI Care Partner platform for clinicians, having grown from $1M to $50M ARR in two years and recently raised $340M (Series C led by Blackbird, plus $240M growth investment from General Catalyst). The platform has processed 175 million patient visits, supported 67 million clinical hours, and now handles 2.8 million patient sessions weekly across 190+ countries in 110 languages and 200+ specialties.
You'll join the collaboration and platform team, working on features that enable clinicians to work together seamlessly—from small clinics to major hospital networks. This is both a feature team and platform team role: one week you ship a collaboration feature in the web or mobile app; the next you strengthen the foundations beneath it.
Key responsibilities:
- Own delivery of collaboration features from spec to production, reducing friction for clinical teams
- Design shared APIs and building blocks that enable other Heidi teams to add collaboration and access control
- Run authorization at scale: own the service handling tens of millions of access checks daily, designing data models and migrations that maintain speed and correctness as the company grows (patient privacy and data integrity are non-negotiable)
- Work across the full stack: React and TypeScript on frontend, Python on backend; go deep in one area while building range in the other
- Partner with tech leads, PMs, and designers to translate clinical workflows into features clinicians actually use; shape technical decisions as your context grows
Heidi's culture emphasizes building for the next decade, not the next quarter. They lead proactively, follow evidence, own outcomes end-to-end, ship and iterate rapidly, and live in clinicians' actual reality (not idealized workflows). The team is mission-driven around healthcare impact, recognizing that standard tech playbooks often fail in healthcare contexts.
Benefits include $1,000 annual L&D budget, $150/month health and wellness allowance, $500 home office budget, 26 weeks paid primary parental leave, 18 weeks paid secondary parental leave, fertility support up to $10,000, four weeks work-from-anywhere annually, and equity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years building production software in Python, TypeScript, or both
- Solid grounding in APIs and data modeling
- Depth in at least one area; speed to become useful in others
- Eagerness to tackle unfamiliar problems with a track record of self-directed learning
- Experience owning feature delivery from spec to production
- Adaptability when priorities shift; comfort moving between frontend and backend
- Proficiency with AI tooling in your own engineering work and ability to help others adopt it
- Product mindset: care about how your work helps clinicians deliver better care
- Sound judgment on trade-offs, including when patient data requires slowing down
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with multi-user features (permissions, sharing)
- Familiarity with FastAPI or MongoDB
- Experience with feature flags and experimentation
