Splash Financial is a fintech marketplace that helps people refinance debt—student loans, credit cards, and more. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Cleveland, the company has refinanced over $6 billion in loans and raised $135M+ from top-tier investors including DST Global and Citi Ventures. The company operates as a remote-first organization with a startup mentality: fast-paced, nimble, and mission-driven.
In this Senior Full Stack Engineer role, you will develop and enhance Splash's React and Next.js website, building new features and optimizing performance. You'll partner closely with backend engineers (working in PHP and Clojure) to design cohesive end-to-end features and ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend services. You'll lead projects from inception to delivery, writing technical design documents, managing Jira cards, and driving clarity and accountability across the team.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing A/B tests using feature flags to evaluate impact on user behavior and business metrics; implementing and maintaining observability for the platform through alerts, monitors, and dashboards; and contributing to production stability by investigating bugs and supporting a smooth user experience. You'll work fully remote in a highly collaborative culture, communicating actively with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow engineers.
The tech stack includes React, Next.js, and ClojureScript on the frontend; Clojure on the backend; PostgreSQL for data; and AWS, Kubernetes, and serverless architecture for infrastructure.
