True Anomaly builds autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to enable U.S. and Allied space superiority. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Digital Engineering team, you will own major components of the in-house software behind the digital thread—full-stack applications serving as systems of record for product, manufacturing, and operations data. You will take features and services from design through production, lead projects end-to-end, and establish patterns for the broader team. Your work bridges off-the-shelf systems today while building the software to replace them. You will collaborate directly with engineers, buyers, and technicians to transform real workflows into software they prefer using, while maintaining authoritative and traceable product data. Key responsibilities include: **Design & Build:** Design and build full-stack features and services end-to-end (data model, services/APIs, workflow, web UI) and operate them in production. Model domain data for systems of record (parts, revisions, BOMs, change orders, as-built records) with lifecycle states and traceability. Build integrations and event-driven data flows between in-house software and off-the-shelf tools. Write technical designs and drive them through review. **Delivery & Operations:** Lead projects from scoping through delivery, breaking down work and maintaining momentum. Execute parts of migrations from off-the-shelf tools to in-house software, including data migration, parallel operation, and cutover. Build observability, auditability, and data-quality checks into shipped software and help operate it in production. Uphold engineering standards through code review, testing, and technical documentation. **Collaboration & Mentorship:** Mentor early-career engineers through pairing, code review, and design feedback. Work directly with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing users to understand workflows and ship fitting software. Coordinate with teams owning today's engineering and business systems to design respectful integrations. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment supporting national security space operations. You will work in an AI-native environment where using AI to accelerate impact is expected. The role requires coordination across teams, may involve on-call/support rotations, and occasional travel to company sites. Work environment includes both standard office settings and production factory floors. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record shipping and operating production applications and services - Experience building user-facing web applications end-to-end (data model, APIs, modern front end such as TypeScript/React) - Solid experience with API design, relational data modeling, and reliably moving data between systems - Experience leading a project or feature area from design through delivery - Experience operating software in production (monitoring, debugging, incident response) - Cloud fluency (e.g., AWS) and working knowledge of CI/CD and security fundamentals - Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Go, Python, TypeScript) - Clear written communication, including technical design documents - U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. Person) as required under ITAR - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with event-driven architectures and system-integration patterns - Experience building, extending, or integrating PLM, ERP, manufacturing execution (MES), requirements/ALM, or MBSE systems - Experience with versioned, auditable records and end-to-end traceability - Experience migrating users and data from off-the-shelf systems to in-house software - Strong product sense and experience working directly with engineering, manufacturing, or operations users - Experience with Go, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and GitOps - Background in aerospace, defense, or other regulated, hardware-driven domains
