Replit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Compute Platform team. You will work on enhancing Replit's cloud infrastructure, which powers the agentic software creation platform that enables users to build applications using natural language. Key responsibilities: - Expand Replit's cloud infrastructure offerings by launching new cloud products for use by Replit Agent. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features that empower developers with comprehensive tools for building and deploying applications. - Enhance reliability and scalability by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing critical paths, and implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems. Work with the SRE team to ensure high availability and minimal downtime, enabling customers to scale applications seamlessly. - Improve cloud infrastructure utilization by analyzing infrastructure costs and identifying optimization opportunities. Implement strategies to reduce cloud expenses through resource provisioning, auto-scaling, cost-aware scheduling, and data lifecycle management. You will be working with a distributed systems focus, designing and optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. The role requires deep engagement with cloud technologies, infrastructure optimization, and a pragmatic problem-solving approach. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Foster City, CA with an in-office requirement of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You will participate in an on-call rotation with a minimum of 6 people. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven track record working with platform-as-a-service, distributed storage, or information retrieval systems - Experience designing scalable architectures and optimizing systems for latency or cost - Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to approach complex challenges pragmatically - Self-directed and autonomous; able to work independently, set priorities, and drive projects forward - Versatility and flexibility to wear multiple hats and tackle challenges across different stack layers - Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends - Comfort diving into Linux internals - Proficiency in Golang and/or Rust NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with cloud infrastructure or platform products, particularly application deployment, serverless computing, or container orchestration - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as GCE, GKE, Cloud Run, or Cloud Storage - Open-source contributions related to cloud technologies, deployment frameworks, or developer tools
