Apollo is a $1.6B-valued, AI-native go-to-market platform trusted by over 500,000 companies. The company combines a database of 210+ million B2B contacts with an agentic GTM platform, helping revenue teams find, engage, and convert customers.
Builder Studio is Apollo's flagship AI product—a no-code/low-code platform that lets RevOps leads, GTM engineers, and founders describe custom tools in plain English, and an AI agent plans, generates real code, and deploys working apps. The product is currently with design partners and heading toward broad launch. This role is about taking a working 0-to-1 product and scaling it to be reliable, secure, and loved at scale.
You will own major end-to-end slices of Builder Studio, spanning both the customer-facing builder experience and the systems that execute generated apps. Your work will touch problems most engineers haven't encountered: an agent that writes and edits software on behalf of customers, a runtime that safely executes generated code with the user's own Apollo permissions, and an interface that makes it all understandable to non-technical users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building the core Studio experience: chat-driven build loop, live preview, canvas, publish and share flows
- Shaping how the agent translates natural-language goals into plans, pages, databases, and workflows, then safely applies edits
- Designing the runtime and workflow layer for generated apps, including triggers, scheduled jobs, retries, logging, and the boundary between deterministic and agentic steps
- Owning delegated identity, permissions, secrets, and isolation so generated apps act with exactly the user's access level
- Expanding integrations across Apollo data (contacts, companies, lists) and external systems (Google Sheets, Google Drive, CRMs, MCP connectors)
- Making relationships between pages, data, workflows, and agents legible in the UI so customers trust their apps
- Working directly with design partners and customers to ship improvements quickly
- Raising quality standards on a fast-moving team: setting patterns, writing tests and evals, owning reliability, performance, and cost
The team is AI-native by default. You will use AI-assisted development as a core part of your workflow, with clear judgment about where to review closely. On Builder Studio specifically, your instincts for where AI-generated code succeeds and fails will directly shape the product.
Tech stack: TypeScript and React (frontend); Ruby on Rails and Node.js (backend); Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects (Builder Studio runtime); Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch (wider platform); Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform (infrastructure); GCP (cloud).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years building and shipping production software with real depth on both frontend and backend of the same product
- Strong TypeScript and React skills, including complex stateful UIs (editors, canvases, builders, real-time collaborative surfaces)
- Solid backend and API design experience, ideally with event-driven or workflow systems where retries, idempotency, and observability matter
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs: agent loops, tool calling, context management, code generation, or evals; understanding of where models break and how to design around it
- Comfort making sound security decisions on systems running untrusted or generated code: sandboxing, delegated auth, scoped tokens, secrets handling
- Track record taking ambiguous 0-to-1 products from rough prototype to something customers rely on, making scope-versus-quality tradeoffs
- Product instinct and empathy for non-technical users; care about whether a RevOps lead understands their app, not just code correctness
- Genuine, current fluency with AI-assisted development and high bar for quality and ownership
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience building low-code, no-code, or AI app-builder products, or developer tools
- Experience with edge or serverless runtimes (Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects)
- Experience with Ruby on Rails at scale
- Background in GTM, sales, or marketing tech; experience working closely with RevOps teams
