CreatorIQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Safety & Compliance team and build scalable, AI-driven brand safety systems. This backend-focused role involves designing and operating distributed services, APIs, and data pipelines that power SafeIQ—a platform helping brands identify risks, assess content suitability, and make informed brand safety decisions while keeping humans in control of final review.
You will architect event-driven and serverless systems on AWS (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, S3), build large-scale data pipelines ingesting creator and social content, and design agent-ready APIs that expose brand safety capabilities to AI agents with clear contracts, permissions, validation, and idempotency. The role involves integrating AI/ML and multimodal inference into customer-facing experiences, improving data models and query performance across relational databases (Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS SQL Server), and collaborating with Product, Data Science, ML, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to turn capabilities into reliable production systems.
Key responsibilities include designing scalable backend services and APIs; building robust asynchronous workflows handling retries, failures, and concurrency; designing and operating large-scale data pipelines; building reliable workflows integrating AI/ML inference; designing agent-ready APIs and tools with clear error handling; improving observability, monitoring, and production reliability; and contributing to technical design, code review, mentoring, and engineering best practices using AI-assisted development tools.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership of complex production systems
- Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including REST/GraphQL APIs, third-party integrations, and asynchronous processing workflows
- Experience building serverless and event-driven systems on AWS (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, S3, API Gateway)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, transactions, and query optimization (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server preferred)
- Experience building distributed or data-intensive systems reliably processing large data volumes
- Experience designing APIs or tools for machine-to-machine or AI-agent use, including structured contracts, permissions, validation, idempotency, and error handling; familiarity with AI agents, tool calling, MCP, A2A, or similar patterns
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets management, rate limiting, retries, failure recovery, and secure API design
- Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and production operations
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to independently own features from discovery through production rollout
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams; Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency (written and spoken)
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with AI/ML-powered systems or LLM-based applications
- Experience building AI agents or agent-ready APIs (MCP, A2A, tool calling, LangGraph, CrewAI, Strands Agents)
- Python experience for backend development, data processing, or AI/ML integrations
- Experience with data-intensive technologies (Redshift, Parquet, ETL, batch processing, cross-cloud data flows)
- GCP experience or building integrations across AWS and GCP
- Full-stack development with React and TypeScript
- Experience with large-scale content/media processing, social platform integrations, content moderation, Trust & Safety, or Brand Safety systems
