In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain the ThreatQ Threat Intelligence Platform, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability. You will oversee and mentor a team of software developers, providing technical guidance and fostering continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with product managers, security analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications. Your responsibilities include participating in code reviews, staying current with emerging cybersecurity technologies, and contributing to technical documentation including design specifications and API documentation.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you'll work across the full stack—backend systems, databases, infrastructure, and front-end technologies—while guiding your team through complex architectural challenges. A key focus is integrating AI agents and intelligent services into both internal systems and customer-facing products, with emphasis on enterprise-grade reliability, security, and scalability.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 6–8 years of software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Strong hands-on experience in PHP (Laravel) and/or Python with solid object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with SQL and database systems (MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Solr)
- Experience with front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML, TypeScript, CSS)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD development lifecycle and hands-on experience with Git version control (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab)
- Experience with RabbitMQ or similar message queue/async job systems
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON
- Experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, pytest, Jest)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform); familiarity with on-prem Kubernetes (RKE2) a plus
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Experience using AI-powered developer tools (coding assistants, internal copilots, workflow automation)
- Experience designing, prototyping, and integrating AI agents and intelligent services into systems and products
- Experience collaborating with product, security, and platform teams to incorporate AI capabilities meeting enterprise requirements
- Experience mentoring engineers on effective use of AI tools, prompt engineering, and evaluation of AI-driven features in production
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience designing multi-environment Terraform/Helm deployments spanning AWS EKS and on-prem Kubernetes (RKE2)
- Experience scaling SaaS environments
- Experience with event-driven/queue-based architecture (RabbitMQ, Event Sourcing, Event Listeners)
