Salary: USD 110,000 - 145,000 / annual
Ping Identity is a cloud identity platform company headquartered in Denver, Colorado, serving over half of the Fortune 100. The Platform Engineering team is building Ping's identity and governance capabilities for AI agents, focusing on securing and governing AI systems at scale.
In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will be a core contributor to the team delivering identity and access management (IAM) capabilities across Ping's platform. You'll work across the full stack—from infrastructure and databases through to user interfaces—designing and implementing APIs, models, workflows, and orchestration surfaces. You'll collaborate closely with product management, UX, and engineering teams to turn validated ideas into production features that help customers identify, secure, and govern AI agents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering IAM capabilities spanning infrastructure, databases, APIs, models, workflows, and UI experiences
- Designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, and data models
- Researching and prototyping solutions in emerging areas, working with senior technical leaders and product teams
- Participating in the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, rollout, and production support
- Using modern AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code) as part of day-to-day engineering work to accelerate research, prototyping, and implementation
- Communicating technical decisions clearly, collaborating across teams and time zones, and supporting other engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Thriving in a rapidly changing environment, adapting to evolving customer needs and technology trends

**Requirements:**
- Ability to design, build, test, and operate production services using Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data/domain models
- Experience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management
- Ability to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, and implementation while applying sound engineering judgment
- Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across teams and time zones, and willingness to support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharing
**Bonus qualifications:**
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modeling
- Experience with AI agent identity and non-human identity
- Familiarity with MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration concepts
- Experience working across multiple codebases, teams, or product areas to ship cohesive outcomes
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience working as part of an international team
- Experience contributing to technical designs and proof of concept work
