Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its infrastructure and build systems team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining highly-automated build, release, and testing infrastructure that powers Okta's cloud identity platform.
You will work on scaling infrastructure to handle tens of thousands of tests per commit, with a focus on reducing compute time from days to minutes. This is an individual contributor role with significant ownership and autonomy. You'll collaborate with Development, QA, and Operations teams to continuously innovate and enhance build and automation infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining highly-automated build, release, and testing infrastructure
- Creating and coding tools for internal use to support continuous delivery
- Scripting and automation across the engineering organization
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and enhance infrastructure
- Experimenting with and implementing new technologies from AWS and the broader ecosystem
- Working with internal customers to roll out projects and processes, collecting feedback, and iterating based on needs
The team operates with a weekly release cycle, individual ownership, and a fast-paced agile environment. You'll have the opportunity to work with emerging technologies and be part of a company transforming cloud computing and identity infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages (Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript)
- Good understanding of application development, microservices architecture, and multi-service ecosystems
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional work toward task completion
- Experience working on AWS or Kubernetes
- Good understanding of virtualization, dynamic provisioning, Docker, AWS, and Linux
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus
- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
