Salary: USD 140,000 - 180,000 / annual
Basalt is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a crucial role in developing their AI-focused application platform. You will bridge front-end and server-side infrastructure, working across the full stack with React/TypeScript on the front-end and Node.js on the back-end. The system is architected as microservices in a mono-repo setup, designed for excellent developer experience and high scalability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engineering robust front-end and back-end solutions for the platform
- Ensuring the codebase remains scalable, maintainable, and secure
- Designing and optimizing the overall architecture of applications
- Collaborating closely with the product team to enhance user experience
- Working hand-in-hand with other developers to continuously improve the product and codebase, contributing your own experience and insights
You will work with technologies including Docker, PostgreSQL, and other modern development tools. The role offers a flexible remote policy with an emphasis on regular in-office presence in San Francisco.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Full-Stack Development experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React.js
- Prior experience working with AI (including personal projects) or demonstrated interest in the AI ecosystem
- Strong passion for developing high-quality applications with a product focus
- Independent and proactive mindset, while thriving in collaborative team environments
- Ability to bring your own experience to propose improvements and drive innovation
