monday.com is an AI work platform serving 250,000+ customers, enabling teams to bring people, workflows, and AI agents together on a flexible platform where AI executes, not just assists. The BigBrain Data Platform group is the home of monday.com's AI innovation. The AI Foundations team is a senior engineering group responsible for giving every employee and AI agent safe, scaled access to company data. The team owns several critical systems: - BigBrain Studio: a generative AI product that converts employee ideas into live, hosted apps or dashboards running safely on sensitive data through built-in governance. - Events pipeline: streams billions of production events into Snowflake for company-wide analytics. - Tool layer: the BigBrain MCP Gateway exposes 100+ internal and external tools (Salesforce, NetSuite, Tableau, Datadog, Sentry, etc.) to Claude Code, Cursor, n8n, and internal agents. - Agent stack: a LangChain/LangGraph-based agent framework powering production agents, plus ATP (Agent Tool Protocol), an open-source protocol for secure, isolated code execution. - Identity and governance: authentication, authorization, and entitlements for employees and AI agents, ensuring every action is tied to real identity and permissions. - Secure data access: per-user permission enforcement on queries to sensitive company data. The team operates AI-first: knowledge bases are written for Claude, workflows are automated with agents, and engineers are expected to push the boundaries of AI-assisted engineering. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of core platform components: shipping product, setting technical direction, and raising the bar for the team. Responsibilities include building generative AI products, evolving the agent stack, scaling the MCP Gateway, securing AI agents end-to-end, owning BigBrain Identity, guarding sensitive data, owning production systems, and leading and mentoring team members. The role is based at monday.com's Tel Aviv headquarters. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering, with hands-on ownership of cloud-native production systems at scale (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD). - Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents: agent frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph or similar), tool calling, prompt and context engineering, evals, and LLM observability. - Strong system design skills: designing APIs, SDKs, and platforms consumed by many teams, evolved without breaking existing consumers. - Solid authentication knowledge (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, service-to-service, least privilege) and a security-first mindset when handling sensitive data and credentials. - Strong ownership: ability to take ambiguous problems from idea to production and maintain them. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring. - Daily user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar). ADVANTAGES: - Experience building MCP servers or gateways, OAuth for MCP, and tool governance. - Knowledge of policy and entitlements systems (OPA/Rego, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC, or identity governance platforms). - Agent security expertise: sandboxed code execution, agent identity and delegation, human-in-the-loop approvals, audit trails. - Data platform experience: Snowflake, data-access governance (Satori or similar), Kafka/CDC. - Internal platforms and SDKs: experience owning release and versioning across many consumers.
