Salary: USD 200,000 - 240,000 / annual
Traba is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain, helping warehouses, manufacturers, logistics providers, and workers automate operations. The company started as a staffing platform and has evolved into an AI-agent company backed by Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, and General Catalyst.
You will join as a founding member of the Agents team, owning the core AI agent infrastructure that powers Traba's product. Your responsibilities include:
- Embedding with customers and operators to understand supply chain workflows, then designing and shipping agents that automate meaningful work.
- Building production agent systems on frontier LLMs: tool use, sub-agents, retrieval, structured outputs, MCP servers, and orchestration patterns.
- Owning evaluation as a first-class discipline—building datasets from real traces, designing rubrics and graders, running experiments, and proving improvements move the needle.
- Architecting the data, services, and APIs the agent layer depends on, integrating internal systems with customers' WMS, TMS, and ERP environments.
- Codifying repeatable deployment patterns to accelerate each new customer rollout.
You will work closely with the CTO, product team, and operators to take 0-to-1 ideas to scaled deployments. The role requires moving fluidly between prompt iteration, eval design, backend services, and customer-facing UI—shipping real product on frontier models, not just chat wrappers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software engineering, with 1+ year shipping LLM- or agent-based features into production.
- Strong in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js; comfortable designing APIs, distributed systems, and data models in PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on with the modern agent stack: production-scale prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, orchestration patterns, and frontier model APIs.
- Track record building in fast, ambiguous environments—ideally at a vertical AI, AI-agent, forward-deployed, or data-product company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to run customer workshops and write clean design docs.
