You will join the Agentic SOC team as a Senior Software Engineer, working in a small, full-stack team of 2–3 engineers organized around a mission-driven stream. The team's goal is to build LLM-powered agents that augment security analysts by automating repetitive investigation and triage work, freeing humans to focus on judgment-heavy decisions.
Key responsibilities:
- Own features end-to-end as Feature Lead: scope problems, coordinate team work, make technical decisions, and ship to production with minimal supervision.
- Design and deliver LLM agents integrated into SOC workflows, including tool design, prompt and context engineering, evals, and guardrails. Balance accuracy, cost, latency, and autonomy trade-offs.
- Lead technical design discussions within your stream and influence architecture and standards beyond it. Set the bar for code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Ground engineering decisions in outcomes; push back when rationale is unclear and propose simpler or faster paths to business results. Stay close to security analysts and customers.
- Mentor engineers on your team and across the stream through pairing, code review, and design feedback. Act as a multiplier.
- Participate in hiring: interview candidates, shape the bar, and support onboarding.
- Contribute to a psychologically safe, outcome-oriented team culture. Lead by example in incidents and high-pressure moments.
- The role is hybrid, based in Berlin or The Hague (Netherlands), with a commitment to travel to the office twice per week.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of development experience, including meaningful full-stack exposure. Comfortable working across backend and frontend layers and picking up new technologies independently.
- Depth in at least one technical area and broad competence across the stack. Demonstrated experience designing and shipping systems where performance, security, reliability, and maintainability all mattered.
- Experience with strongly typed languages (TypeScript, Java, .NET, PHP, or similar). The team operates in Go and React; experience with strongly typed languages is valued as a foundation.
- Hands-on experience building LLM agents with evidence of real-world utility. Must have built and shipped at least one non-trivial LLM-powered agent or agentic workflow in production or as a side project with real users. Ability to speak concretely about design choices around tool use, context and state, evals, failure handling, autonomy, cost, and latency.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools as part of daily development workflow.
- Track record of raising the level of engineers around you through mentoring, code review, and design feedback.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to translate technical trade-offs for engineers, product managers, and leadership. Writes designs and decisions in a way others can build on.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and secure development principles.
- Fluency in English (required).
