Salary: USD 176,100 - 308,200 / annual
Join ServiceNow's Conversation Engine team to scale and optimize a cutting-edge Generative AI product serving enterprise users. You'll work at the core of the Moveworks Generative AI platform, focusing on building infrastructure that enables hundreds of millions of users to interact across multiple chat channels (MS Teams, Slack, Web, etc.) with minimal latency and memory footprint.
Key responsibilities include:
• Construct extensive product infrastructure with user-friendly interfaces that empower engineers and configurators to customize and optimize generative AI models, collecting data and feedback to adapt to diverse enterprise use cases.
• Design scalable API abstractions for the conversation platform that support all popular chat clients and provide a neutral API for other engineering systems.
• Optimize the dialog engine to accommodate a wide range of conversational features, leveraging private domain knowledge unique to each enterprise customer, and enable real-time multilingual translation with minimal memory footprint and low latency.
• Champion best practices for coding patterns, API design, scalability, robustness, and optimization, fostering a culture of excellence among fellow engineers.
• Provide comprehensive insights and visibility into conversational AI product performance through robust logging, tracing frameworks, debugging tools, and automated metrics for monitoring and analysis.
• Collaborate closely with ML engineers, application engineers, product teams, and customer support to drive new features and scalability initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
• 5+ years of professional development experience, specifically building systems at scale
• Strong foundation in computer science and software engineering with expertise in scalable systems
• Deep understanding of clean, modular, and scalable API design; ability to champion best coding practices
• Passion for optimizing systems and improving performance; expertise in tracing, logging, and metrics frameworks
• Systematic approach to identifying and resolving latency bottlenecks, race conditions, and throughput limitations
• Ability to independently research requirements and develop innovative solutions; thrive in fast-paced coding environments
• Strong communication skills to articulate design rationales and approaches
• Cross-functional awareness enabling seamless collaboration with various teams
