As a Senior Software Engineer on the Activation team, you will own the critical first-time user experience—the onboarding flows and signal-based systems that determine how new users engage with the platform. Your work will directly impact user retention and product adoption through data-driven, personalized journeys.
Key responsibilities:
- Build user-facing onboarding flows, contextual nudges, and interactive elements across logged-in and logged-out experiences
- Develop backend systems that interpret early-funnel signals to understand user intent and route users to relevant product paths
- Deliver end-to-end solutions across the stack: React and TypeScript on frontend; Python, Go, or Kotlin on backend
- Design and run A/B tests and fast feedback loops to measure activation improvements
- Own observability, reliability, and developer experience for Activation team systems
- Work collaboratively with product, design, marketing, data, and analytics teams in the Growth domain
- Use AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Claude Code) as part of daily engineering practice
The team operates in fast feedback loops, moving from ambiguous problems to shipped experiments. You'll work in a collaborative environment that values both technical rigor and creative problem-solving.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience with React, TypeScript, modern CSS, and HTML
- Backend development experience (Python, Go, or Kotlin)
- Proven track record in full-stack product development, including backend-for-frontend patterns and event-driven systems
- Experience with analytics instrumentation and experimentation (event tracking, A/B testing, feature flags, data-driven product decisions)
- Comfort working AI-first with agentic tools as part of everyday practice
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to drive ambiguous problems toward clarity and implementation
Nice-to-have:
- Deep experience architecting scalable web applications in React and TypeScript (server-side rendering, frontend architecture, performance optimization)
- Familiarity with observability tooling and experimentation/product analytics platforms
