Veeam Software, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its Quality Engineering team in Pune, India. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation solutions across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end workflows in a cloud-native environment.
You will design and develop robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and performance testing. You'll contribute reusable automation libraries, utilities, and tools that can be adopted across engineering teams. Key responsibilities include participating in continuous improvement initiatives around test strategy, automation, CI/CD pipelines, quality metrics, and engineering practices. You will implement and support CI/CD pipeline integration, develop tools to simplify testing processes, and validate distributed and cloud-native systems involving APIs, microservices, queues, databases, and asynchronous workflows. Additionally, you'll prepare technical documentation and specifications, and mentor other SDETs while contributing to the overall Quality Engineering culture.
The role works closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other SDETs to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle. You'll work with technologies including Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Golang, C#/.NET, Bash, Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, WireMock, and GraphQL.

**Requirements:**
- 8+ years of experience in test automation and software testing practices
- Strong programming experience in C#/.NET or comparable programming language, plus shell scripting or Python
- Experience with UI automation frameworks (such as Playwright), API automation, and REST APIs
- Experience with xUnit/NUnit or similar test frameworks
- Experience with performance and scalability testing frameworks
- Ability to simulate real-world load conditions and analyze system behavior under stress
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows
- Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes and cloud-native projects
- Understanding of container orchestration, service mesh, and observability tools
- Ability to build reusable components and utilities for test and infrastructure automation
- Strong ownership of projects and good communication skills
**Bonus Skills:**
- Experience developing in Golang
- Experience with public cloud APIs (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, or other modern communication protocols
- Experience with test virtualization/mocking tools such as WireMock
