Graphcore is seeking a Senior SoC Architect to shape the high-speed interfaces and silicon sub-systems behind its next-generation AI acceleration platforms. In this role, you will translate product requirements into specifications for complex, highly integrated, high-performance silicon devices. You will own sub-system architecture, modelling, validation, and evaluation, connecting early design choices with practical implementation. Your responsibilities include determining how critical components work together while balancing product needs with implementation trade-offs, assessing third-party hard and soft IP, working with vendors, and specifying how sub-systems integrate across the platform. You will also contribute to silicon bring-up, characterization, and evaluation as needed.
Reporting to the Director of Silicon Architecture, you will work closely with processor, SoC, and system architects. Silicon design, verification, hardware, and software engineers are partners in evaluating options and checking implementation correctness. You will represent the team in cross-functional working groups, making trade-offs clear and advocating for designs that need further scrutiny. You will help teams move forward by resolving complex bugs and improving engineering processes. Mentoring engineers will allow you to share your judgment and help others develop theirs. Your contribution extends beyond specification documents—you will deepen your understanding of AI acceleration by seeing how architectural decisions play out in working silicon.
Graphcore is one of the world's leading innovators in AI compute, developing hardware, software, and systems infrastructure to unlock the next generation of AI breakthroughs. As part of the SoftBank Group, Graphcore is positioned at the forefront of transformative technology.
