Salary: USD 170,000 - 200,000 / annual

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team, you will design and develop foundational components and frameworks that serve as the building blocks for Legion's Agentic AI platform. You'll work on core infrastructure that underpins the entire system, with a focus on high-performance, production-grade code.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop foundational components and frameworks for the Agentic AI platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and create platform solutions that empower developers
- Stay current with design patterns, techniques, and technologies that attract developers to platforms
- Work closely with machine learning engineers to build infrastructure supporting ML workflows in enterprise environments
- Provide production support and troubleshooting to ensure platform stability, performance, and scalability
You will be instrumental in building out core platform features and contributing to the growth of the technology stack. Your expertise in Rust will be critical—all performance-critical areas are developed in Rust. You'll also leverage experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and distributed systems to ensure reliability at scale.
REQUIREMENTS:
- US Citizenship or Greencard (required due to US Government contract requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–8+ years of software and platform engineering experience with a strong track record designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Proven experience building platform infrastructure and backend systems serving multiple products and engineering teams
- Expert-level experience in Rust, with demonstrated ability to design and develop high-performance systems
- Demonstrated expertise in database architecture and scalable data systems, including distributed databases, storage and indexing systems, data modeling and schema design, and high-throughput/low-latency data access patterns
- Experience designing systems that support AI and machine learning workloads
- Familiarity with workflow engines, execution runtimes, and AI orchestration frameworks
- Growth mindset with low ego; eager to learn new tools, technologies, and perspectives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Start-up experience or comfort in 0→1 product environments
- Kubernetes familiarity
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment
