Arvinas is a biotechnology company pioneering targeted protein degradation therapies using its proprietary PROTAC Discovery Engine platform. The company recently achieved the first FDA approval of a PROTAC protein degrader therapy in May 2026, marking a major milestone in the field.
We seek a Senior Research Scientist to serve as a key scientific contributor and knowledge leader in applied cellular neuroscience. This is a hands-on, lab-focused role driving neuroscience discovery programs forward through biochemical, immunocytochemical, and histochemical pharmacology readouts, with emphasis on primary cells and tissues of the central nervous system (CNS). High-content imaging (HCI) and histochemistry experience are strongly preferred.
The role requires collaboration in a matrixed environment with accountability to multiple project teams within Neuroscience. You will design and implement in vitro pharmacology readouts utilizing cellular biochemical, functional, and image-based endpoints, including ELISA/MSD, quantitative Western blot, HCI, and bioluminescence-based assay formats. You will provide technical and scientific leadership in immunohistochemical endpoints for CNS and other tissues, and serve as a core contributor to a collaborative HCI working group focused on best practices and robust solutions to assay design challenges.
Key responsibilities include: designing and implementing in vitro pharmacology readouts; providing technical leadership in immunohistochemical endpoints; generating timely data to support program decision-making; setting and maintaining high standards in data analysis and QC; driving internal dialogue around innovative data interrogation approaches; and interfacing with the automated biology organization to identify automation-amenable assay strategies.
This position is located at Arvinas headquarters in New Haven, CT and requires regular, hands-on, in-lab experimental work. The role offers the potential to develop and train other scientists across the research organization.
