Isomorphic Labs is seeking a Senior Research Investigator to join the Computational Sciences team, specializing in biologics. The role focuses on designing novel large molecule therapeutics using cutting-edge AI drug design engines. You will work across early discovery through candidate selection, collaborating with world-leading AI, ML, and drug discovery experts to develop innovative approaches for protein-based therapeutic design and optimization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying opportunities for computational modeling to enhance biologics discovery programs and developing new methods
- Collaborating with machine learning and biologics discovery teams to develop computational and ML methods for predicting biologics properties from sequence (affinity, developability, immunogenicity)
- Applying computational methods to discover novel therapeutics
- Benchmarking existing computational methods and developing baseline models
- Analyzing experimental data to inform biologics discovery program decisions
- Determining what data to generate to improve machine learning models and implementing model-aware prioritization for active learning
- Developing methods for predicting functional properties of biologics expressed as biophysical constraints
The company applies frontier AI to accelerate drug discovery and development. Founded in 2021, Isomorphic Labs builds on the Nobel-winning AlphaFold system, combining drug discovery expertise with machine learning to model complex biological phenomena and design novel molecules.
The role requires hybrid working with 3 days per week in the London office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day depending on team assignment).
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience using computational and machine learning methods to predict biologics properties
- Experience developing computational methods to predict biologics properties from sequence (affinity, developability, immunogenicity)
- PhD or equivalent in computer science, computational biology, structural biology, biochemistry, or related field
- Proficient programming skills with strong emphasis on Python
- Experience preparing datasets, benchmarking models, and working with structure-based metrics
- Comfortable learning new ways of working in fast-changing environments
Nice to Have:
- Industry experience in pharma or biotech environment
- Experience working in multidisciplinary large molecule drug discovery teams
- Experience with structural modeling of biologics, including 3D protein structure tools
- Experience using generative-design methods for biologics
- Experience working with complex biologics modalities (antibody-drug conjugates, multispecifics)
