Salary: USD 68,700 - 103,100 / annual
Precision Medicine Group seeks a Senior Research Associate (Bioanalytical) to perform bioanalysis services for commercial clients. This role involves conducting immunological assays (ADA, PK, potency assays, cytokine measurement), managing plate-based assays, DNA/RNA extraction, and data analysis using Softmax, MSD benchwork software, Prism, and Excel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently planning and conducting bioassays at various scales for different customers
- Performing QC analyses to ensure results meet specifications; monitoring and troubleshooting assays
- Conducting R&D activities to support new product development and assay development
- Operating specialized equipment (spectrophotometer, MSD plate reader, Quanterix, Nanostring) per SOPs
- Assisting scientists in modifying and re-optimizing current assays to address new technologies
- Completing all documentation for QA/QC and GLP purposes using Good Documentation Practices
- Assisting in training new and existing laboratory staff
- Drafting and editing SOPs, including validation documents for new equipment
- Evaluating opportunities for SOP revisions and recommending improvements to efficiency and quality
- Managing raw material requirements, reagent inventory, and purchase orders
- Maintaining instrument and reagent inventory per SOPs
- Maintaining a clean and safe lab environment
The role reports to senior scientists and involves independent work with guidance on complex assays. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a productive environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 4 years of relevant laboratory experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Other Required:
- Previous experience with ELISA, MSD, Quanterix-based platforms, or Nanostring
- Good attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work well in a group environment and function in a highly productive work environment
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Ability to lift and carry 1–15 lbs; ability to lift up to 50 lbs overhead with assistance
- Frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity
- May be exposed to cold freezer environments (−20°C to −196°C)
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English
Preferred:
- Substantial ligand binding assay experience
- Prior experience in GLP, GMP, or GCLP environments
