You will join the research team as a Senior Research Analyst focused on fuel oil markets, playing a key role in expanding Kpler's Europe-based research capabilities. This is a high-impact position that bridges research, client engagement, and product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct rigorous market intelligence on fuel oil and feedstock markets, with primary focus on West of Suez (WoS) markets and secondary coverage of Middle Eastern markets
- Identify and analyze key market trends and insights for client-facing reports
- Support pre-sales efforts by articulating Kpler's market perspective to prospective clients
- Build relationships with mainstream and specialist media, promoting Kpler research and insights
- Report on significant fuel oil market developments and feedstock dynamics as part of Kpler's Insights offering
- Contribute to webinars, external presentations, and thought leadership content
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to develop and enhance client offerings
You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where you help clients navigate complex commodity markets and stay ahead of market developments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field with proven experience applying modeling techniques in commercial or research environments
- 5+ years of experience in refined products markets with a focus on fuel oil markets (exposure to Dirty Products Platform (DPP) preferred)
- Comfortable with secondary unit operations modeling and fuel oil fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to produce independent market analysis and communicate insights to diverse audiences
- Strong capability to conduct complex analyses across multiple datasets using advanced data analytics tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Prior experience with Kpler data or other cargo tracking tools
- Physical trading background
- Established network of market contacts
- Familiarity with data science tools
