Scopely is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the MONOPOLY GO! game team in Barcelona or Seville on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in office). MONOPOLY GO! is the biggest mobile game launch in history, captivating millions of players worldwide. The MONOPOLY GO! Tech Vertical develops platforms, services, and engineering capabilities that support a reliable, responsive mobile gaming experience. You will help establish quality engineering capabilities through hands-on development of automation frameworks, test infrastructure, and quality insights across mobile, Unity, APIs, integrations, performance, and CI/CD. Reporting to the Quality Director of Tech, you will take ownership of immediate testing needs—including manual, exploratory, and release validation—while developing sustainable automation and tooling. You will balance building reusable engineering solutions with hands-on testing, recognizing the continuing value of exploratory testing alongside automation. Key responsibilities include: - Writing, reviewing, and maintaining automation frameworks, tools, and test infrastructure that other engineers can adopt and extend - Participating in technical design and code reviews to identify risks early and improve test hooks and diagnostic capabilities - Developing mobile and Unity automation for Android, iOS, and Unity workflows, accounting for device differences and network conditions - Strengthening API and integration testing to validate backend services, client-server interactions, and data integrity - Testing player-state consistency, interrupted sessions, reconnects, and client-server synchronization - Investigating failures across systems using logs, metrics, traces, and telemetry - Validating mobile and backend performance, including frame rate, memory usage, startup time, and load testing - Applying risk-based testing to prioritize validation by player impact and technical complexity - Integrating validation into CI/CD pipelines with reliable automated feedback - Building test data utilities and repeatable setup processes - Developing AI-assisted quality workflows for test generation, failure triage, and regression selection - Strengthening telemetry validation and building quality dashboards - Contributing to establishing QE standards, documentation, and mentoring within the organization Success looks like teams receiving faster, more trustworthy feedback and clearer visibility into release risk. Immediate testing needs are met while dependable automation grows around critical player journeys. Performance regressions surface earlier, failures are easier to diagnose, and your tools are maintained, documented, and adopted by other engineers. REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrated quality engineering, software development in test, or software engineering experience, including hands-on ownership of automation used by other engineers - Strong programming skills in C# or Python, with ability to work effectively in Unity and automation codebases; experience with source control, code reviews, debugging, and maintainable software design - Practical experience testing and automating Android and iOS applications, including device coverage, OS differences, and unreliable network conditions - Experience developing API and integration tests, diagnosing failures across services, and integrating reliable automated tests into CI/CD - Working knowledge of performance, risk-based, and exploratory testing, with sound judgment about what to automate - Working knowledge of SQL and practical experience with telemetry and big data, including querying large datasets and validating data pipelines - Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and ability to evaluate their accuracy and usefulness - Strong ownership and collaborative problem-solving; passion for quality, mobile games, AI, and technology - Advanced professional proficiency in spoken and written English, sufficient for independent participation in technical discussions and clear documentation with global teams VALUED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: - Hands-on experience with Unity, C#, Unity Test Framework, or automated testing of Unity-based mobile games - Experience with live-service games, player-state consistency, reconnect behavior, or client-server synchronization - Experience with mobile device farms, observability, quality dashboards, or establishing QE capabilities within growing teams
