Litmus Automation is building the data foundation that powers industrial AI. The company helps manufacturers access, structure, and use real-time data from machines, systems, and sensors at the edge. Litmus is trusted by global manufacturers and partners including Google, Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, and Mitsubishi.
You will join the Industrial and Data team in Pune as a Senior QA Test Engineer (SDET). Currently, developers on this team test their own work, leaving the connectors that talk to PLCs and industrial control systems without independent test coverage. You will own building and maintaining that coverage.
This is a code-focused role. Your deliverables are the automation framework, the regression suite that runs on every build, and the device and protocol simulators that enable testing without physical hardware. You will work from the Pune office alongside industrial developers and collaborate closely with the engineering team in the US.
Key responsibilities:
• Build and own automated test coverage for southbound connectors using OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and DNP3 protocols.
• Write end-to-end tests that drive Litmus Edge through its REST API and maintain them in GitLab pipelines for every internal build.
• Develop protocol and device simulators to eliminate queuing for physical devices with single-connection constraints.
• Organize coverage into development and regression test suites, running regression tests on LTS builds and agreed cadences.
• Test upgrade paths, backward compatibility, load behavior, and extended soak runs.
• Triage pipeline failures, identify root causes, and distinguish product bugs from infrastructure issues.
• Maintain test cases and results in Jira and Xray for component-level coverage reporting.
• Review acceptance criteria early in the development cycle to ensure testability.
Requirements:
Must Have:
• 5+ years in software test automation, with at least 3 years writing test code in Go, Python, or similar languages. This is not a manual or record-and-playback role.
• Hands-on REST API test automation experience, including building and changing system state through API calls.
• Working knowledge of at least two industrial or IIoT protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DNP3, or MQTT).
• Comfortable with Linux, Docker, and CI pipelines (GitLab preferred), including ability to read and debug pipeline logs.
• Must be able to work from the Pune office. This role is on-site; remote work is not available.
Nice to Have:
• Experience building device or protocol simulators, or hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
• C++ or Golang development experience.
• Playwright or similar modern UI automation frameworks.
• Jira and Xray for test case and test execution management.
• High-level understanding of PLCs (e.g., memory tags vs. symbolic tags).
• Performance, load, or soak testing experience.
