Lendable is a UK unicorn fintech company on a mission to build technology that helps people get credit and save money. The company has rebuilt consumer finance products (loans, credit cards, car finance) from scratch, delivering funds to customers in minutes instead of days. With 700+ employees, backing from top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs, and profitability since 2017, Lendable is one of the UK's fastest-growing tech companies. You'll join the Central Operations team as a Senior Python Engineer (Full Stack). Central Ops sits across core products (Cards, Loans, Motor) and focuses on shared operational challenges. The team builds internally-facing web applications and robust automations to help Operations teams deliver great outcomes for customers at scale. Operations represents roughly half of Lendable's headcount, covering everything from customer support to fraud and fincrime prevention. In this role, you'll have real ownership from an engineering perspective, shipping features used daily by Ops teams. You'll work on an evolving space that shapes both tools and technical direction. Recent examples include rebuilding the Ops QA admin system from scratch (replacing off-the-shelf tooling), deploying an LLM pipeline to summarize customer calls into concise notes automatically surfaced in admin panels, and doubling the number of complaints processed through AI automation and improved UX. You'll work in small teams of exceptional people who are relentlessly resourceful. The role involves making intelligent, pragmatic use of AI where it adds real value, working closely with Product, Data Science, and Analytics to deploy solutions that genuinely support ops agents. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer - Solid experience with Python in a web application context; experience with web frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask (Lendable uses FastAPI) - Experience with Javascript/Typescript and a modern JS framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js (Lendable generally uses React & NextJS); ability to build a frontend suitable for internal tooling - Strong engineering principles & practices: design patterns, testing, clean code, and good code review skills - Previous experience working in a product-focused team - Keen desire to learn and contribute in a highly collaborative team - Regular use of AI tools like Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar in day-to-day coding PLUS (not essential): - Exposure to Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, and Event Sourcing - Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS - SQL and ability to navigate data schemas - Experience shipping containerized software with Argo, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
