True Anomaly is seeking a Senior Propulsion Development Engineer to serve as the hands-on design and build lead for a new Denver Front Range hypergolic propulsion test stand. This is a builder's role where you will design, fabricate, install, and commission ground systems and facility infrastructure that will power the company's propulsion programs for years to come. You will lead detailed mechanical design of hypergolic propellant feed systems, including storage vessels, transfer lines, fill and drain assemblies, valve configurations, and pressurization circuits. You will select fluid system components compatible with hypergolic propellants (NTO, MMH, UDMH, or similar), develop P&IDs with appropriate redundancy and emergency safing, and design propellant offload, storage, and transfer infrastructure with secondary containment and neutralization provisions. Beyond propellant systems, you will design the primary test stand structure including thrust measurement systems, engine/thruster mount interfaces, and load paths for anticipated thrust levels. You will detail mechanical designs for run tank assemblies, GSE carts, propellant conditioning systems, and ancillary hardware, producing fully detailed CAD models and engineering drawings suitable for fabrication and third-party review. You will conduct or coordinate structural and pressure system analyses including FEA, pressure budget calculations, and proof/burst margin verification. You will develop fabrication packages with drawings, material specifications, and acceptance criteria; identify and qualify vendors for fabricated components, pressure vessels, specialty valves, and instrumentation; and oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation, resolving anomalies and nonconformances. You will define and execute acceptance test requirements including proof pressure testing, leak checks, and functional verification. As design authority for hypergolic system safety, you will ensure all designs comply with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and DoD standards for toxic and reactive propellant handling. You will contribute to facility hazard analyses (PHA, FMEA), support development of operating procedures, coordinate with local authorities and fire marshals on permitting, and establish material compatibility and cleaning standards. You will lead mechanical commissioning of hypergolic facility systems, maintain as-built documentation and configuration control, and provide ongoing design support during early test operations. REQUIREMENTS: The posting does not explicitly state years of experience or specific educational requirements in the provided excerpt. However, the role requires expertise in hypergolic propellant systems design, mechanical engineering with CAD proficiency, FEA and structural analysis, pressure vessel and fluid system design, vendor qualification and procurement oversight, and compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and DoD standards. ITAR compliance is required: you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
