Andercore is an AI-native supplier of industrial materials for energy, infrastructure, and construction across Europe. The company operates a global trade and distribution platform powered by AI agents that handle sourcing, quality, pricing, sales, logistics, and embedded financing end-to-end. With €100M+ in annual turnover, operations across seven European markets, and $75M raised to date from top-tier investors (Atomico, Project A, Inven Capital), Andercore is redefining industrial trade through software and agentic AI. As a Senior Product Engineer, you will own business problems end-to-end: from initial conversations with users through production and beyond. You'll talk to the commercial teams using your systems, collaborate with Product to define what to solve, and ship complete slices of functionality—data models, backend services, AI agents, and user interfaces. You'll work in a domain where prices and stock change daily, supplier data arrives in unpredictable formats, and data errors have direct financial consequences. You'll set the quality bar for the engineering team and mentor engineers around you. Key responsibilities include: - Own business problems from conception to production (e.g., making supplier pricing reliable from ingestion through customer quotes). - Build backend services for pricing, inventory, orders, and integrations connecting suppliers, customers, and logistics partners. - Build AI agents and the tools/APIs they use, ensuring safety through idempotency, validation, audit trails, and human review. - Design and build interfaces where commercial teams review agent proposals, correct mistakes, and approve decisions quickly. - Transform messy external data (price lists, datasheets, stock feeds) into trustworthy data the business relies on. - Measure production impact, including evaluating and monitoring LLM-driven workflows. - Lead technical decisions, document trade-offs, and mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and feedback. - Participate in hiring and help define engineering standards at Andercore. In your first six months, you might build a pricing engine that scales with growing assortment and markets, or automate procurement by turning supplier documents into structured data and letting AI agents handle manual steps. Tech stack: Java 21 and Spring Boot 3, Python, LangGraph and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), PostgreSQL, Kinesis, AWS with Terraform, GitHub Actions, TypeScript with Node.js, Next.js, and React. You don't need to know everything on day one; the team uses AI coding tools heavily and expects you to learn what the problem requires. REQUIREMENTS: - At least 5 years of experience building and running software in production with real users and real consequences for failures. - Strong backend skills at production scale in Java or comparable languages (Kotlin, C#, Go), with willingness to work in Java and Spring Boot. - Experience designing distributed, event-driven systems with focus on data correctness and failure modes. - Solid command of PostgreSQL and hands-on AWS experience. - Full-stack delivery capability: build frontends in TypeScript and React (depth on backend, but can ship good interfaces). - Product sense: ask why before how, talk to users, turn vague problems into clear plans. - Experience in fast-growing companies where priorities shift and you keep shipping. - Track record of solving business problems, not just technical ones. - Experience building with LLMs or agent frameworks is a strong plus; curiosity and good engineering judgment about them is a must. - Ability to raise the level of people around you and push back when something doesn't make sense. - Experience in trading, marketplaces, supply chain, fintech, or domains where data errors cost money is a bonus.
