Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced technology, AI, autonomy, and computer vision. The Analytics team builds a unified data model that serves as a digital twin of company operations, powering workflows and applications that help the organization make faster, better decisions. In this role, you'll move beyond dashboards to build internal products on top of Anduril's unified data model. These are operational tools used by Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, People, and Sustainment teams to actively run their business, not just monitor it. You'll own products end-to-end: discovering user needs, designing the underlying data architecture, building the interface, and measuring impact. You're an engineer who prioritizes solving real problems over technology choices. You have strong data modeling fundamentals and are comfortable working across the full stack when needed. What drives you is taking messy operational challenges, determining what should exist, and getting solutions into users' hands quickly. Key responsibilities include: - Owning products from conception to adoption, finding high-leverage problems, prototyping, and iterating based on user feedback - Treating operators as customers, spending time understanding their domain deeply, and translating actual needs into software - Building across the stack: data models, backend logic, user interfaces, optimization models, forecasting engines, or LLM-powered workflows as the problem requires - Using and extending Anduril's unified data model (ontology), pushing changes back when products reveal gaps - Shipping fast with tight feedback loops, measuring business impact rather than just feature launches - Making product decisions about what's worth building, acceptable quality thresholds, scope cuts, and when to kill ideas - Raising the bar for the Analytics team by demonstrating what's possible when data models become products The tech stack includes Databricks (central foundation for data applications and large-scale analysis), dbt (SQL transformations with version control and CI/CD), and Dagster (asset-based, event-driven orchestration). You don't need to know all of this on day one. REQUIREMENTS: - 4+ years building software or data products as a Product Engineer, Software Engineer, Data/Analytics Engineer, or technical consultant with strong engineering background - Track record of shipping products from 0 to 1 that people actually used (at work, startups, or personal projects) - Strong product sense: ability to distinguish real problems from stated ones, prioritize what to build first, and make trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality - Strong data modeling fundamentals: designing entities and relationships that generalize, explaining trade-offs - Solid programming skills in Python and SQL, with comfort picking up new languages and frameworks as needed - Ability to work directly with users and non-technical stakeholders, communicating clearly - Experience working with sensitive data and following security protocols - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Frontend development (React, TypeScript) or experience building internal tools end-to-end - Optimization, operations research, or simulation (linear/integer programming, scheduling, routing, inventory) - Applied ML or LLM-powered application development - Experience with Palantir Foundry (Workshop, Ontology, OSDK) or similar operational data platforms - Domain knowledge in manufacturing, supply chain, finance, or defense operations - Early-stage startup experience or history of wearing multiple hats (engineering, product, design) - Portfolio, GitHub, or side project demonstrating self-directed learning of challenging topics
