Salary: GBP 80,000 - 125,000 / annual
Conveo is a Y Combinator-backed AI research platform that enables fast, affordable, and high-quality consumer and B2B research. The company raised a $50M Series A led by DST Global and is in active growth, scaling from ~20 to ~120 people by year end. Global brands like Unilever, Google, and Orange use Conveo's AI video interviewer to generate customer insights across marketing and product teams.
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will own the full distance from customer problem to working software, reporting directly to the CTO. The engineering team is deliberately small with no product managers or designer handoffs—engineers drive product direction and have direct customer proximity.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the full stack: build the React/TypeScript frontend that customers use daily, design APIs, manage cloud infrastructure (AWS), and ship complete end-to-end features including AI-powered ones
- Be the engineering voice in customer conversations: join calls (~1/week), interpret customer needs, translate feedback into scoped product decisions, and follow through
- Lead projects from concept to launch independently
- Use AI throughout the development process: leverage agentic solutions, frontier models, prompt engineering, and LLM APIs; help raise the bar for how the team works
- Set quality standards for components, state management, and performance
The role emphasizes working backwards from user experience, owning product direction with real technical and strategic impact, and shipping polished features end to end. You'll work in a small, fast-paced team where documentation overhead is minimized through AI tooling.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years building full-stack applications with TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong backend experience: API design, PostgreSQL, background jobs, async workflows
- Solid React frontend skills
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS and/or GCP): S3, media pipelines, deployment tooling
- Experience building AI-driven applications (prompt engineering, LLM APIs, fine-tuning a plus)
- Ability to independently lead projects from concept to launch
- Excellent written and verbal English communication with attention to detail
- Collaborative mindset, able to work autonomously in small, fast-paced teams
BONUS:
- React Router v7 or Remix experience
- Experience at small, fast-moving SaaS companies with client-facing work
- Exposure to market research or qualitative research tooling
- Shipped agentic AI systems to production with understanding of failure modes, evaluations, and tool design
