Coinbase is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Platform Design and Research team, specifically within the Infra pillar. This role focuses on designing internal tools and dashboards that accelerate product development and operations across Coinbase's engineering organization.
You will independently define the problem space for engineer-facing tools, using research and usage data to shape product roadmaps that don't yet exist. You'll lead design end-to-end from discovery through launch, partnering closely with engineering leadership to bring design rigor to infrastructure tooling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to product and design strategy direction for Coinbase's infrastructure tools
- Designing high-quality UI and interaction patterns for data-intensive, workflow-heavy enterprise tools, including visual workflow builders, configuration management systems, and real-time dashboards
- Owning end-to-end design for the development release pipeline, giving engineers visibility into code deployment status
- Designing the Engineering Standards Scorecard, translating 100+ standards spanning reliability, security, and adoption into a clear, trustworthy view for individual contributors, directors, and VPs
- Running iterative design cycles: ideating, prototyping, testing with internal users, and refining based on qualitative feedback and operational data
- Partnering with engineering leadership and standards owners to define a shared service-catalog data model and ingestion approach
Coinbase is a remote-first company with quarterly in-person "surge" sessions for intensive collaborative work.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of professional product design experience, including owning end-to-end flows from discovery through launch
- Track record designing enterprise solutions for complex workflows, ideally used by both technical and non-technical users
- Excellence in UX thinking, systems design, and ability to influence product strategy and roadmap in close partnership with Product and Engineering
- Sharp attention to detail and mastery of craft: visual design, interaction design, and prototyping
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management experience
- Experience designing for technical, engineer-facing, or data-heavy systems such as internal tools, dev platforms, or governance and compliance tooling
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments
- Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools, including using AI tools to explore, prototype, or ship faster
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality
