TRM Labs is an AI-powered intelligence platform helping public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime by tracing illicit activity and building cases against threat networks. As Senior Product Designer, you will own end-to-end design for core workflows across public and private sector products, from initial sketches through shipping.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing end-to-end workflows for investigators and compliance analysts working with massive, complex datasets under time pressure
- Defining the agentic experience: how users hand work to AI, verify outputs, and decide whether to trust results
- Contributing reusable patterns to the design system that both designers and AI tools can leverage
- Setting and maintaining quality standards through build reviews with engineering
- Designing how AI agents show their reasoning, sources, and confidence levels
- Determining when and how humans step in to review, correct, or redirect AI work
- Working embedded with product and engineering teams across public and private sector pods
- Using AI as a design tool to explore directions, generate variants, and create clickable prototypes rapidly
- Shipping with the team through Slack and huddles, adjusting designs in real-time and explaining reasoning clearly
You'll design for expert users (investigators and compliance analysts) handling high-volume transaction and entity data. The work involves designing for both human-AI collaboration and building patterns that scale across the product. You'll move fast—shipping rough versions for team feedback rather than waiting for perfection—while maintaining a high quality bar.
The team is high-output and collaborative, with no territorial silos. You'll jump in wherever work is most urgent and receive direct, fast feedback. TRM operates at high velocity with quick iteration cycles: specs shared Monday can have mocks and AI-built prototypes by Tuesday; mid-build design pivots happen within hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated craft in complex, data-heavy B2B product design with sharp information architecture and interactions that hold up under real use
- Ownership mindset: drive design forward without waiting to be told; pull in PMs, engineers, and designers early; own outcomes without working in isolation
- Agentic fluency: either designed product surfaces where AI or automation does real work for users, or have a clear point of view on how agentic design differs from traditional UI
- Systems thinking: treat each solution as a reusable pattern; contributed to or scaled a design system; understand what makes design systems get adopted
- Speed with judgment: move fast and know when polish matters versus when rough is sufficient; prefer shipping a rough version today over a perfect one next week
- AI fluency: expected to be in the top 10% of operators in your function for applying AI to accelerate workflows, structure problems, improve output quality, and increase speed and leverage
- Portfolio demonstrating data-heavy B2B product work
