Prolific is building human data infrastructure for AI development. As Senior Platform Engineering Manager, you will lead the Cloud Platform and SRE teams, owning the technical foundation and reliability that enables Prolific to scale securely and efficiently.
You will provide unified leadership to one or more platform teams, fostering high performance and ownership culture. Your responsibilities include driving strategic direction for infrastructure and platform services (Kubernetes/GKE clusters), championing SRE principles across the organization by defining SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets, and enhancing observability and incident remediation. You will own the developer-facing platform—golden paths, self-service infrastructure, and internal tooling—treating it as a product with its own roadmap and adoption metrics. You'll ensure cloud environments remain secure and compliant with SOC2 and ISO-27001 standards.
You'll work within a cross-functional product development group spanning Engineering, Platform, Product, Data, Design, and Research. The culture emphasizes moving fast, continuous improvement, strong engineering principles, and ownership. Your technical expertise will directly impact your teams' work and drive technical decision-making for scalable, resilient systems.
The technology stack includes Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Terragrunt, Crossplane), GitOps workflows (ArgoCD), Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Django Rest Framework, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, and monitoring tools like DataDog. You'll work with databases including MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, and DynamoDB, and CI/CD tools like CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience leading teams in infrastructure and SRE domains, with a track record of scaling platforms and people
- Several years of deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Terragrunt, Crossplane)
- Experience with GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD
- Solid understanding of complex infrastructure and application architecture, observability principles, and incident management
- Experience balancing platform stability and reliability with developer productivity and velocity
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders
