Salary: CAD 136,000 - 187,000 / annual
Okta's Auth0 platform secures over 100 million logins daily for customers worldwide. The Platform Infrastructure team enables Auth0 engineers to move faster by providing tools to deploy and manage services on AWS and Azure. This Senior Platform Engineer role sits within a high-impact team building cutting-edge, foundational infrastructure that allows Auth0 to scale.
You will develop and maintain a scalable platform runtime using infrastructure-as-code, enabling teams to seamlessly deploy and manage services across Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure. You'll tackle highly ambiguous requirements to architect scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions for cross-cutting concerns like service discovery and routing, while setting platform best practices. You'll proactively identify performance bottlenecks and advocate for new technologies to optimize platform resiliency, scale, and cost.
Using observability tools like DataDog and Prometheus, you'll design SLIs and enforce platform SLOs. You'll design secure-by-default infrastructure and collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance. You'll drive and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, aligning multiple teams around technical strategies and ensuring successful delivery. As a technical leader within the team, you'll actively mentor and elevate the skills of junior and mid-level engineers. You'll use company-approved AI tools for software engineering, operations, research, and analysis, and participate in the team's on-call rotation.
The ideal candidate is passionate about infrastructure, operations, and distributed systems, with strong performance and scaling expertise. You'll be comfortable working on a fully-distributed remote team and not intimidated by cross-organization coordination and collaboration.
**Requirements:**
- 5–8 years of software development experience
- Deep technical expertise in Golang, Terraform, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers (AWS/Azure) to build complex, modular infrastructure
- Demonstrable experience architecting distributed systems and making complex technical tradeoffs (consistency vs. availability, build vs. buy)
- Ability to deliver work incrementally with strong operational experience leading incident response, driving RCAs, and implementing preventative measures
- Comfort experimenting with AI models and exploring capabilities of different effort levels and context
- Comfortable working on a fully-distributed (remote) team
**Nice-to-Have:**
- Advanced Kubernetes experience (autoscaling, KEDA, KNative) or expertise in performance/load testing
- Experience with Redis, Kafka, and/or PostgreSQL at scale
- Experience building with agentic AI
- Strong opinions about text editors, CAP theorem, or Dota2
