HeartFlow is a publicly traded medical technology company (HTFL) that develops AI-driven diagnostic solutions for coronary artery disease, the leading cause of death worldwide. The company's flagship product, HeartFlow FFR_CT Analysis, provides clinicians with 3D models of coronary arteries to assess blood flow impact and identify stenoses. Products are cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, and Canada, and have been deployed for over 750,000 patients globally. The Infrastructure Platform team owns cloud foundations, site reliability engineering (SRE), and developer experience. You will join this team to lead a major migration from AWS Lambda and Fargate to Kubernetes (EKS), while building and maintaining the underlying cloud platform. **Migration (First Project)** Your initial focus will be migrating CDK-based serverless applications to EKS. You will contribute to migration patterns and reference implementations, translate existing CDK stacks into Terraform/Terragrunt and Helm configurations, and develop robust solutions for running event-driven, serverless-like workflows on Kubernetes using technologies like KEDA. You will plan data-tier and API cutovers to minimize downtime and risk, work with application teams to understand their workloads and sequence migrations, and provide tooling and documentation to enable teams to migrate with minimal hand-holding. You will benchmark migrated services, tune resource requests and limits, and ensure observability and service-level objectives match or exceed pre-migration performance. **Platform (Ongoing)** Beyond migration, you will build and maintain cloud foundations including account structure, networking, IAM, and shared services—all as code. You will contribute to SRE practices including SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity and cost management, and participate in on-call rotations as the team matures. You will improve developer experience through Harness pipelines, golden paths, and the Cortex service catalog, treating internal engineers as the platform's customers. You will write standards, guardrails, and runbooks that other teams can follow independently, and support Linux and Windows systems where required, prioritizing automation over manual work. This role offers the opportunity to shape a platform while it is being built, starting with a well-defined, high-impact migration and expanding into broader foundation, reliability, and developer-experience work. The work directly supports products used in patient care, in an environment where reliability, security, and traceable change management are critical. **Requirements** - Several years of platform, infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps engineering experience, including at least one production migration of workloads to a new platform or architecture (Fargate/ECS to Kubernetes or serverless to containers preferred) - Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes on AWS (EKS): networking, security, scaling, and day-two operations - Solid AWS experience across compute (Lambda, ECS, EKS), data (RDS), API Gateway, VPC networking, and IAM - Production experience with Terraform and comfort with Helm - Scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, or Go - Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and containers - Clear written and verbal communication with a track record of influencing technical decisions across teams **Nice to Have** - Experience with AWS CDK, including reading and refactoring existing stacks - Experience with KEDA or other event-driven scaling on Kubernetes - Experience with Terragrunt, Harness, or internal developer portals (Cortex, Backstage) - Windows or Linux systems administration - Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, finance, medical devices) including change control and audit evidence - Monorepo experience - Prior ownership of multi-quarter technical initiatives
