voize is an AI-native company building AI companions that automate digital workflows for frontline workers, particularly in healthcare. The company has raised $50M in Series A funding (led by Balderton Capital, with backing from HV Capital and Y Combinator) and serves 2,000+ facilities with 200,000+ active users.
As Senior People Operations Manager, you will build and own the People Operations function from the ground up. This is voize's first dedicated People Ops role, giving you the opportunity to design modern, scalable processes without legacy constraints.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the complete employee lifecycle (onboarding through offboarding) with mandate to redesign, not just execute
- Serve as trusted point of contact for people-related matters requiring judgment and discretion
- Build a modern, AI-native People Ops foundation with clear ownership, documentation, and seamless employee experience
- Automate repetitive processes: build reliable data sources, workflows, and AI agents to eliminate manual admin work
- Establish global readiness: entity vs. EOR decisions, global payroll architecture, local employment compliance across all operating markets, with audit-proof documentation
You will work in a fast-growing startup environment with flexible hybrid arrangements (Berlin office with remote options within Germany), 30 vacation days plus birthday off, stock options, and perks including Germany Transport Ticket, Urban Sports Club, and learning platform access.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Several years of People Ops ownership experience in a fast-growing tech company, with demonstrated knowledge of which processes break at different headcount stages
- Deep expertise in German payroll and employment law (payroll preparation, contracts, statutory deadlines, audit topics) at a detailed level
- Multi-country People Ops experience: entities, EOR, global payroll, local employment law; at least one market entry completed; US experience is a strong plus
- AI-first mindset: ability to build your own automations and agents; instinct to remove repetitive processes rather than staff them
- Builder mentality: experience insourcing, migrating, or rebuilding functions; ability to write usable documentation; comfort with ambiguous mandates
- Fluent German (C1+) and English
