Salary: CAD 180,200 - 233,200 / annual
Thumbtack is a marketplace platform that helps millions of homeowners care for their homes by connecting them with local service professionals. The Partnerships team operates as a startup within the company, incubating new products and business models to drive innovation across the platform.
As a Senior Native Engineer on the Partnerships team, you will bring partnership initiatives to life by enhancing the native mobile applications used by both homeowners and service professionals. You'll work on a broad range of projects including GenAI integration strategy, major partner integrations, and building entirely new experiences that apply Thumbtack's capabilities to new verticals and industries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ship user-facing features end-to-end on mobile, from design handoff through release
- Build net-new experiences and enhance existing workflows in both customer and service professional-facing applications
- Work across iOS and Android platforms as needed, leveraging AI tools and frontier models to accelerate delivery
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to scope, build, and iterate on features
- Own features through their full lifecycle: experimentation, A/B testing, metrics instrumentation, data-driven iteration, and post-launch support
- Navigate platform constraints including app store review processes, OS version support, and device fragmentation
You'll be part of a self-contained, cross-functional team that moves fast and experiments rapidly. The team is also responsible for maintaining and growing existing lines of business that represent a significant percentage of overall revenue.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency with either Android or iOS development
- Deep hands-on expertise with modern language and UI stack on at least one platform: Kotlin + Jetpack Compose (Android) or Swift + SwiftUI (iOS)
- 6+ years of industry software experience with significant time building consumer-facing mobile features
- Strong product sense: ability to translate product and design requirements into technical implementation and weigh in on UX tradeoffs
- Track record of owning features through full lifecycle including experimentation, A/B testing, metrics instrumentation, and data-driven iteration
- Facility navigating platform constraints: app store review, OS version support, device fragmentation
