Abby Care is building an AI-native platform for family-led care, addressing America's growing care crisis by empowering over 50 million family caregivers with tools, training, and support. The platform combines clinical oversight with AI to help families deliver high-quality care at home while providing health plans and government partners with transparency and verification capabilities.
As a Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native), you will report to the Director of Product Engineering and own the full development lifecycle of mobile products—from concept through delivery. You'll take architectural ownership of rebuilding the mobile experience to be truly AI-native, working across product definition, development, user testing, and launch cycles. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams (operations, clinical, compliance, product) to solve real-world healthcare delivery challenges and be a critical voice for technical initiatives that advance the mission.
You'll lead the team in technical excellence by deepening expertise in areas like product development, cloud infrastructure, machine learning, or data security, while building greenfield systems using the latest AI advancements. You'll uphold healthcare industry standards and become an expert in one of the US's largest sectors. This is a 0→1 environment where you'll help shape the product direction and roadmap as a key early engineer.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of building, scaling, and maintaining complex applications in production
- Deep expertise in React Native; ready to be the architectural force behind rebuilding mobile experience
- Product-minded approach to development, obsessing over end-user experience
- Strong engineering foundation (Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred)
STRONGLY PREFERRED:
- Experience leveraging AI tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate output and interest in establishing AI-native development culture
- Familiarity with backend development, particularly Python, and/or modern web frameworks
- Experience thriving in fast-paced startup environments with high ownership
- Experience in healthtech industry or deep personal motivation to build high-stakes software that improves human health and home care
