Salary: USD 174,986 - 209,983 / annual
Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to join the Incident Response Management (IRM) squad. The IRM team operates business-critical services that help organizations detect, respond to, and learn from incidents with minimal toil. The squad has three functional areas—frontend, backend, and mobile—with work typically spanning all three.
In this role, you will design, build, operate, and maintain Grafana's mobile application, owning its reliability, performance, and availability. You'll take features from initial ideation through to production, driving projects end-to-end and iterating based on customer feedback. You'll participate in the team's on-call rotations, mentor other engineers, and contribute to design discussions. The role emphasizes a customer-focused approach, pragmatism in breaking down complex challenges, and strong collaboration in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Influencing the product roadmap and your own career development
- Delivering new features and iterating based on results
- Designing and shipping mobile features from requirements through App Store/Google Play releases
- Owning application reliability, performance, and on-call responsibilities
- Mentoring team members and participating in design discussions
- Contributing to open-source initiatives beyond your immediate scope
- Learning the Grafana cloud product, customer needs, and distributed systems architecture

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with at least one native mobile platform (Android or iOS)
- Strong production experience building Flutter apps, including state management, navigation, asynchronous programming, and maintainable architecture
- Demonstrated ability to take mobile features from idea to release independently, including requirements clarification, solution exploration, building, testing, CI/CD workflows, and shipping to app stores
- Comfort integrating mobile apps with backend APIs and cloud services
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, performant code that is easy for others to understand and extend
- Self-starter mentality with bias toward action
- Customer-focused mindset
- Strong communication skills essential for remote collaboration
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience as a Grafana or Prometheus user in operational/on-call roles
- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Familiarity with on-call operations, SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code
- Open-source project contribution or maintenance experience
