Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 / annual

The Merchant Analytics team uses data and analysis to strengthen merchant relationships, drive product analytics, and influence internal strategy. The team values diverse perspectives, fast learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
In this role, you will:
- Scope and lead data analysis projects to help merchant partners understand Upside's business impact, incremental profit drivers, and answer strategic business questions
- Interface directly with merchant partners to understand their business deeply and build strong analytics relationships
- Manage and lead analysis projects identifying opportunities to improve product, merchant acquisition strategy, and two-sided marketplace optimization
- Scale analyses and insights across merchants through scripting, sales enablement, and business intelligence tools
- Partner with Product Marketing to articulate the sophistication of Upside's technology to partners
- Pioneer new data and analysis strategies as Upside expands into growing verticals
This is a hybrid role based in Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC with required in-office attendance on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in quantitative management consulting, data analytics, or related role
- Degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or field with strong quantitative focus (preferred)
- Proven track record of distilling sophisticated concepts and insights into simple, compelling explanations
- Strong project management skills; ability to drive analysis or cross-functional projects end-to-end
- Experience leading analysis that drives business decisions and presenting to key partners
- SQL proficiency for analyzing and organizing large datasets
- Data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) and programming languages (Python) a plus
- Client-facing experience a plus
- Experience in Grocery, Restaurant, Fuel, or Retail industries a plus
- Ability to thrive in ego-free, highly collaborative, fast-paced startup environment
