Triumph is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical systems end-to-end: design, build, test, and everything in between. You will set the direction on mechanical architecture, make critical decisions that constrain downstream work, and be hands-on in the warehouse when hardware needs to be run, measured, and fixed. This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record shipping physical products and understanding what breaks between a clean CAD model and a working machine. Key Responsibilities: - Own mechanical design for major subsystems, from requirements through detailed design, tolerance analysis, and release to production. - Drive design for manufacturability and assembly; select processes, work directly with machine shops and vendors, and make cost and lead-time tradeoffs. - Build, instrument, and run test rigs; define measurement parameters, analyze data, and translate results into design changes. - Establish standards for the team: CAD practices, part numbering, revision control, test documentation, and review processes that catch problems early. - Partner with engineers and cross-functional teams on integration, where most real-world problems emerge. - Work out of the Fremont, CA warehouse on testing, bring-up, maintenance, and repair of hardware in service. Requirements: - 5+ years designing and shipping mechanical hardware, with a track record of systems you owned through production (not just design review). - Strong fundamentals in structural analysis, materials selection, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and failure analysis. - Deep CAD proficiency and real manufacturing fluency; you anticipate what machinists will call about before they call. - Hands-on test experience: you've built fixtures, instrumented hardware, and debugged problems that only appear on real parts. - Comfort in the shop and field; willingness to do maintenance and repair work alongside design work.
