Salary: USD 150,000 - 200,000 / annual
Robust AI is an early-stage robotics and AI startup founded in 2019, building the next generation of autonomous warehouse robotic systems. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a small, fast-paced team designing and deploying intelligent, collaborative robots at scale.
You will own the mechanical design and lifecycle management of robot subsystems, from concept through production. Your responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with the mechanical team to deliver next-generation robot designs
• Design and manage components across the full hardware lifecycle: concept, design, fabrication, testing, and production
• Work cross-functionally with industrial design, electrical engineering, product, and software teams to ensure design decisions align with system constraints
• Identify and resolve issues in current robot systems while balancing engineering effort and budget
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on designs
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for your designs
You are someone excited about seeing robots deployed at large scale, comfortable in an early-stage startup environment, and able to pivot effectively as priorities shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM
• Background in user-facing product design
• Hands-on experience with robotic or mechatronic systems
• Ability to communicate effectively across functions
• Ability to work independently
• Track record of working with and managing vendors
